Mignon Maude...
Mignon's earliest memories as a child are of sitting around the big old dining table painting and drawing with whatever was available - usually crayons or little tins of waterpaints.
Later she was lucky enough to paint with John Ogburn and Ross Davis in their classes down on Circular Quay in Sydney.
Like most female artists, family and marriage took over Mignon's time for many years although she still managed to attend several classes here and there.
Mignon also worked in the Michael White Gallery in Katoomba and got to mingle with many well known artists from that region of the Blue Mountains - the inaugural 'City of the Arts'.
Mignon currently resides on the Gold Coast, paints and exhibits at the RQAS Broadbeach selling several paintings here and there.
She is kept busy in her shared position as Gallery Director at the RQAS and an active member on several committees within the RQAS. |
