Michael, an ex-serviceman, served in Malaya with 1RAR. He is a member of the Royal Queensland Art Society, (Gold Coast Branch) Inc., where his work is on display, and is a Committee member also.
He works mainly in oils although he uses other mediums as well. Oils tend to show his versatile style.
Right from a young age he showed a flair in drawing and painting, and with an interest in Land and Seascapes.
After having a bad accident some time ago, which completely changed his life, he began taking his art work more seriously. He took lessons and workshops in various mediums, life drawing and portraiture, and continues to do so.
Now, not only land and seascapes. Combining realism and a touch of imagination, together with a little of that which is the “Artist license”, he creates work that complements any wall. You will find some of his work at the RQAS Gallery, Broadbeach, on the Gold Coast.
On different occasions he has been 'Artist in Residence' at the Southport Library and has also been asked to display his paintings there at various times.
The romance of the canal villages of France with varying roof lines, - The dreaming of the ocean waves, - The hide away's of the hills, - Sunrises, - Sunsets, ----------------
--------------- If there is a subject, - certain colours to go with that, that you have, - or something you have in mind, even a portrait from a photograph you have, -------- then again, perhaps you would rather sit to have it taken from life it-self.
You will always find Michael helpful and very professional in his approach.
