My paintings and works on paper echo the rhythms and vibrations of an inner landscape.

The central idea that intrigues me is that art or the aesthetic experience can reveal a truth that penetrates the surface. The reflections we have when we experience a work of art have a relationship to our notion of beauty.

My goal is to create a connection that involves the sub-conscious and more rational conscious....a reflection of the play between our many levels of aesthetic involvement...or ''beauty'' response.

Having worked in the Byron Bay area for 15 years I am motivated to push creative boundaries as understood subjectively.....moving away from portraiture, realism, organic mark-making and the gesture towards a sense of a purer expression using formal qualities of media - more like having an experience than creating a picture. My intention is to:

• manifest a sensory experience 
• resonate with internal environments and mindscapes
• elicit universal rhythmic and musical recognition
• utilise disruption and diversion
• attend to formal qualities of media
